What NeX Browser records
NeX Browser is a managed browser: your employer administers it. This page says plainly what that means, because a browser you are told to use should not be vague about it.
What is sent to your company
Your browser talks to your company’s own identity server — not to NeXbit. What it sends is what is needed to know the machine and the person at it:
- the work email address you sign in with
- an identifier for this computer, its hostname, operating system and browser version
- when you signed in, and from which network address
- when an administrator granted, declined or withdrew your access
What is not sent
Your browsing is not reported. The pages you visit, your history, your searches, what you type and the contents of any page stay on your computer. NeX Browser has no feature that transmits them, to your employer or to us.
A blocked address is blocked locally, by a rule already on the machine. Blocking a site does not tell anybody you tried to open it.
What your administrator can do
They set which sites are reachable, which extensions are allowed and what the homepage is. They can see the devices enrolled to your company, who signed in and when, and they can withdraw access — which locks the browser wherever it is.
They cannot read your browsing history, your saved passwords or the contents of pages through NeX Browser.
Sessions
Your session is held in memory only and never written to disk. Closing the browser ends it. Tabs you had open are kept on your own machine so they can be handed back when you sign in again, and are discarded if a different person signs in on that computer.
What NeXbit receives
Nothing about your browsing, and nothing about you. NeXbit builds and maintains the browser; your company runs its own identity server and holds its own data. We see it only if your administrator shares it with us while asking for help.
Chromium
NeX Browser is built on Chromium. Google’s consumer services — sign-in, sync, usage reporting and the advertising and rewards features of the browser we forked — are removed rather than switched off. Security updates such as certificate revocation and Safe Browsing continue to work.
Questions about your own data go to your employer, not to us — they are the ones holding it. Your IT administrator can show you every record your company has about your device and your sign-ins.
